With regard to separated children who apply for the refugee status, the Head of Office is responsible for taking up actions in order to find relatives of a separated child while taking into consideration the Act of
On the ground of the Dublin II Regulation, a separated child asylum seeker can be reunited with her/his parents or guardians who are citizens of the Third Country and who apply for the refugee status in any EU country. Parents, who are in a different EU country than their child, shall apply for the family reunification presenting birth certificate or another document confirming the family relationship. Family links can be confirmed through genetic examination commissioned by the Head of Office for Foreigners.
In case of separated children who do not apply for a refugee status, family links are established through recognition and then confirmed in cooperation with the relevant consulate. In case of few readmission agreements, such as the readmission agreement with
