The right to vote
In Poland, only Polish citizens have the right to vote or participate in political elections. Foreigners receive the right to vote once they become Polish citizens.
Only the citizens of the EU Member States who reside in Poland have a right to vote or participate in the following elections:
- Election to the EU Parliament (at least 21 years old)
- Municipality elections in Poland (at least 18 years old)
Before the election, they must register with the local administration office in order to be eligible to vote. Please keep in mind that you can vote or participate in any election only once, which means that a citizen of the EU Member State who voted in the EU Parliamentary election in Poland cannot vote again in her/his country of origin.
