In general

Foreign drivers’ licenses are legally accepted for 6 months since arriving to the territory of Poland .

 

Drivers’ licenses issued in EU and EFTA are legally accepted till their expiry date.

 

Foreign driver’s license accepted in : EU and EFTA Member States, Albania, Bahamas, Kingdom of Bahrain, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Croatia, Philippines, Georgia , Guyana, Iran, Israel, Serbia, Montenegro, Kazakhstan, Democratic Republic of Congo, South Korea, Cuba, Kuwait, Macedonia, Morocco, Moldavia, Monaco, Mongolia, Niger, Pakistan, Russia, San Marino, Senegal, Seychelles, Central African Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uruguay, Uzbekistan, Ivory Coast, Zimbabwe.

 

A foreign driver’s license might be substituted by a Polish document. The foreign driver’s license needs to be returned to the appropriate authority together with the following:

 

- Petition

- Proof of payment

- Picture

 

- Copy of the original drivers’ license translated into Polish

 

If the drivers’ license was not obtained in one of the countries listed above than an individual must retake theoretical driver’s license exam.  All recommendations included in the original document are also included in the Polish version of the drivers license e.g. the expiration date.

In , an international driver’s license is also accepted.
