Context:

Project: “Migrant Info” co-funded from the European Union through Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF): The aim of this project is to facilitate the integration of migrants in Poland by raising their awareness on their rights and obligations and undertaking activities aimed at preventing discrimination and exploitation of migrants at the Polish labour market.

Under the overall supervision of the Head of Office and the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator, the successful candidate will assist in the implementation of the project “Migrant Info” and its operational activities in IOM Office in Warsaw.

 

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

  • Provide information via infoline (e.g. telephone, e-mail, skype, facebook, personal consultations) to foreigners on their rights and obligations in Poland and on the possibilities of obtaining assistance in case of violations of their rights;
  • As instructed, prepare materials which will serve as resources for infoline and other project activities;
  • Assist in updating project’s web page;
  • Cooperate with the project team with regard to updating information on the basis of inquiries from beneficiaries;
  • Prepare reports on infoline operation;
  • Participate and conduct information meetings for migrants;
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned.

 

Required Qualifications and Experience

 

Education

  • Bachelor degree from an accredited academic institution, with one year of relevant professional experience; or
  • Completed High School degree, with three years of relevant professional experience.

(Candidates with Bachelor degree will be preferred).

 

Skills and Experience

  • Very good communication and interpersonal skills including ability to work under time pressure and meet deadlines;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Good knowledge of migration related issues;
  • Ability to work individually and in multicultural team;
  • Good knowledge of MS Office;
  • Experience in providing assistance to foreigners would be an asset.

 

Languages

  • Fluency in English, Polish and Russian is required.
  • Fluency in Ukrainian will be a remarkable asset.

Appointment will be subject to certification that the candidate is medically fit for appointment and verification of residency, visa and authorizations by the concerned Government, where applicable.

Candidates will be recruited in the country of the duty station. Candidates may be considered even if applying from another location but will be considered to be locally recruited.

In all cases, a prerequisite of taking up this position is right of residence and right to work in the country of the duty station at the time of application.
