One form of discrimination is so-called hate speech. The expression refers to insulting, reviling, inducing hatred of a person or group of persons because of their different characteristics, such as race, nationality, beliefs, religion or sexual orientation.

In Poland, incitement to hatred based on race, nationality, ethnicity or religion is a crime. Also, threats, insults, slander designed to humiliate a person in the public’s opinion or expose them to a loss of trust necessary to perform a particular job or profession constitute a violation of the law.
